Sara, an expert computer hacker, knows better than to trust anyone—certainly not the powerful and crooked business mogul for whom she works. But there is no future for the life of a thief. Determined to find a way out, Sara devises a scheme to double-cross her employer and steal millions through one final fatal transaction.

Desperate and on the run, she finds temporary sanctuary with the mysterious Derry Conway. As the FBI closes in and her former associates seek revenge, Sara tries to escape but finds all avenues blocked. Trapped, she sees only one road out—Derry must take the fall and pay for her crimes. This is a great. It draws you in right away. If it does not I don't what will. The first sentence is we have to kill her, I mean if that doesn't pull you in I don't know what will. This girl makes a bad decision and goes on from there. You have so many people after her including the IRS, the FBI, now if you had them what would you do? Well she has Denny, and then finally faith is added into there. Can you believe this is his first novel? Now let me tell you what happens she........like I would really ruin the book for you. Buy it, it is worth it.
I came really close to finishing this but it was ultimately not for me. The characters were underdeveloped and I didn't feel connected to any of them. I disliked both Sara and Derry. The pace was really slow and the instant, inexplicable connection between Derry and Sara couldn't mask that (nor could Sara's hesitancy/questioning make the instant connection more realistic). The dark tone with the unlikeable characters and slow pace resulted in a feeling of hopelessness whenever I tried to read on. I gave 3 stars because the technological component was interesting enough to get me close to the end.
Richard' s book is well written, one that keeps you reading to find out what will happen next. A young girl, Sara, is trapped in a credit card fraud screen by a cruel man. She is planning to escape but is trapped when a young man comes to her aid. The story is about his love for her as he is willing to help. He has the Church helping and tells her about Christ. I highly recommend this book if you like Christian mystery.
Rocky Mountains. Ulrich Levy (boss), & his 3 thugs Mike, Ryan, & Jarred were debating on how to take utilize Sara Beckwith (expert computer hacker, freelance programmer).

Ryan not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree was shot by Mike.
Derry Conway (L & P Accountants International, account mgr.) was still thinking about Tami (deceased).
Denver, Co. Betty & Sarah were enjoying a lunch while she was discussing Sarah’s get-out-of town card.
Sara Chelsea Ramos will be on her passport.

Sara was also designing a program to steal millions from credit card users for Ulrich.
Kai (f, Hawaiian, computer security) was going to help her.
Ben was the new hire he was to keep tabs on Sara.
By chance while eating at Jaspers Greek restaurant Sara meets Derry.

Will Sara be able to get away from Ulrich?
Will he & the others be brought to justice?

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written techno crime book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great techno crime movie, or better yet a mini TV series. It was just OK for me so I will rate it at 4/5 stars.

An interesting read for a first novel by Lawrence. Sara was exceptional in all areas of computer technology. She did her job well, but was the focus of a bully—Ulrich Levy. Levy’s flunky Mike was usually the one who carried out Levy’s threats and judgments. He was itching to carry out negative threats on Sara.
Levy ordered Sara to generate programs which helped him establish a credit card fraud game whereby he would get filthy rich and planned to eliminate her afterwards.
Sara operated by fear but made her plan to double cross Levy. She knew she had to get away – thus began the cat and mouse scramble to find and kill her.
With her shaded past, she cannot believe her good fortune that Derry wants to protect and help her. She struggles to trust this good man who is a Christian.
The intrigue of the book kept me turning pages and wondering who would win in this game after all.
Sarah Beckwith is a computer programmer and hacker genius, who works for the bad guys. Her boss, Levy, has already made millions through a credit card scam, and he wants much more. Levy always gets his way. People who cross him quickly find themselves dead or worse—tortured slowly, until their brains turn to mush. Sarah knows that when her job is over, he’ll do the same to her.

She plans to run—and to steal Levy’s money so she can live in style. She imbeds code deep, creates secret passwords, changes her identity, and moves Levy’s stolen money around. She uses some of it to buy a ticket to Italy.

On the very day she’s going to run, Levy locates her. His goons rough her up, and she’s miraculously rescued by Derry, an innocent young man who happens to be in the right place at the right time. He whisks her away in his car and takes her to his home, calling a friend, who’s a nurse to attend her injuries.

Meanwhile, Levy has everyone on his team looking for her.

What happens when Levy’s men find Derry? Do they also get Sarah? How does this end? You’ll have to read it for yourself.

This is a great book! It’s exciting and then some! It’s also clean with a Christian tone. I read the edition, which sometimes has subject-verb agreement problems (maybe five in the whole book). Otherwise, it’s well written. The author shows he really understands computers and computer crime. I found it fascinating. He effectively developed the characters of Sarah and Derry, and some of the minor characters also have realistic depth to them. I really enjoyed this book!

Note I wouldn’t recommend this book to younger teens. It covers some difficult subjects rape, murder, and torture among them. It’s also fairly violent. It isn’t crudely written, though, and sexual sins, including rape, are stated but not explicit. If you’re very squeamish, you might want to skip this book. The torture is realistic.
