With her present-day life in upheaval, the last thing archaeologist Zoey Kincaid needs is a 25-year-old letter carrying a message of doom. Forced to dust the cobwebs from her shadowy past, Zoey uncovers crimes, deception, and buried family secrets, but will she put it all together in time to ensure a future?
The letter, from her deceased mother, describes a future set of dire events on the banks of the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. Unbeknownst to Zoey, her mother belonged to a select group of foretellers people affected by tainted water who could see beyond normal timelines. Zoey then learns that a recently arrested criminal may be her real father, with her DNA as the only hope for his conviction.
Ominous occurrences soon overtake Zoey’s life her fiancé behaves irrationally; the arrested criminal learns of her existence; and a former stalker, now a powerful corporate titan, resurfaces. The more secrets she unearths, the more the foretelling gains credibility. With suspects in every direction, Zoey must force herself to believe in a mother she barely knew to secure any hope for a future.

3.5 starsI really enjoyed the creative concept of this book. The characters and the plot are quite interesting.
The writing, however, falls a bit short. It seemed like it needed a bit more editing to flesh out some areas and tailor back some. Also, Jake's character was very inconsistent. At times, Kyra/Zoey is also inconsistent. It made it difficult to believe in them.
There were times where I was questioning details (there was a claim about autism that seemed like it was out of place, as in it hadn't been named yet - for example).
Overall, good pacing, great idea, just needs a bit more editing for consistency and flow.

Foreteller Part of the Crime After Time Collection edition by Anne McAneny Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
Wonderful tale.....suspense galore, along with romance, family interactions, murder, and the best of writing leading to an unpredictable outcome. Looking forward to more of this author.
Compelling, spiritual mystery. Stand-alone that is easy to follow. Plenty of twists to keep the reader interested. Believable characters with distinct personalities and emotions. Thought-provoking and humorous dialogue.
I may re-read this book and look forward to other works by this author.
I was entertained by it, It was a good summer read. I don't give it 4 or 5 stars because I think it is a forgettable book.
This is a well-written book that is so full of clues, twists and turns it keeps you interested right to the end. I appreciated that it wasn't so complicated that the reader had no way to figure it out, but it is not obvious by any means. I was surprised by the end, but ended up wondering "why didn't I think of that?" I am not a big mystery reader, but I found this to be very captivating and entertaining.
...but the sound of the Bowie's juicy, precise entry as it performed its craft would be satisfaction enough." Edgy suspense story pitting a female psychic against a deranged madman in hopes of curtailing a fatal vision. Enough mystery to keep you guessing and plenty of well-developed characters that made for a strong read. A quick read and I did like!
A fascinating and exciting story with engaging characters. All the plot twists and turns just drag you into the story and won't let you go. It's amazing how some authors become one of your favorites just by reading one book. I enjoy reading mysteries and paranormal stories, I think Anne is a great writer, really enjoyed her writing style, the book was well edited, plot was interesting and believable, characters engaging; what's not to like?! I encourage you to give her books a try, I think you'll enjoy her style.
there is some violence but not enough that I couldn't recommend this book to teens as well as adults...the plot twists and turns are the biggest draw for this story...zoey is such a likeable young woman, knows where she's going and who she wants to take with her...even being pregnant with her love's child, whom he doesn't want, can't stop zoey from traveling around to settle whether her mother's s foretelling becomes reality or just the rantings of a woman she hardly remembers... I was pleasantly surprised at the end...very well written book with enough mystery to keep my interest all the way to the surprise at the end...
