The first in a series of books filled with romance and drama on Sapphire Cay in the Bahamas.

Lucas Madison is in the Bahamas for his sister's wedding on the beautiful and idyllic island of Sapphire Cay.

He has the weight of the world on his shoulders. With the stress of his job, the loss of his friend, and faced with his own medical crisis, Lucas arrives on the white sands of Sapphire Cay gray and exhausted. His only thought is to see his sister married and happy.

Dylan Gray is a free-spirited traveller who literally follows the sun. Never settling in one place for long, he earns his way from state to state and continent to continent. But there's something about Sapphire Cay that draws him back over and over. A feeling of home.

When these two men meet, both have decisions to make and directions to choose. And maybe together, they can make the right ones and follow not only the sun, but also their hearts.

This is the story of Lucas and Dylan, set against the stunning landscape of Sapphire Cay.

Nothing beats attending a wedding on an isolated island with just your friends and family. Unless you are beset with personal strife and guilt. Lucas has plenty of both. He wants what is best for his sister and maybe even for himself, too. But how does he let go when he's been the sole financial support for the two of them since their parents died years prior. And what about that job? Does he want to continue the stressful position he has with a company whose CEO only cares about numbers?

Even after Tasha, his sister, tried to get him to relax and enjoy the sun, Lucas continued to stress about work and his next business conference. If he pulled it off, he might, just might be able to relax a bit. Yeah, relax, but what does that word mean? All that stress and guilt reached a crescendo when he met Dylan Gray.

Dylan, the exact opposite to Lucas, was tanned, relaxed, and lived with a genuine smile on his face. He simply enjoyed life. But even Dylan had his own burdens, burdens that he felt no one would understand. Then he crossed paths with Lucas and their paths continued to cross since he was the go to person on the island of Sapphire Cay.

Scott and Russell did a great job painting the picture of the island, the wedding party, and the two men whose lives crossed in a most unusual way. How their lives seem so dissimilar yet matched almost exactly. The story unfolded slowly yet had enough mystery and excitement that I wanted to continue the journey with these two men. At several points I wanted to shout at either Lucas or Dylan and tell them to stop and enjoy, but the story pulled me past those points and I found myself just enjoying the journey these two were traveling.

If you enjoy reading a story filled with angst, doubt, love, and wonder, than Follow The Sun by RJ Scott and Meredith Russell is a good book to read.

Sweet and moving. Two words that describes this book perfectly. No deep angst or a lot of drama.
It's a book about figuring out what is important in life supported by an instant love story.
Follow The Sun was a sweet and gentle story. The blurb says the series is full of romance and drama but in all honesty there wasn't too much drama. The focus is on the emotional side of the story.

Lucas heads to Sapphire Cay to host his sister's wedding at the resort. They are orphans and he has raised her since she was a teenager. Lucas has always had responsibilities, whether it be his sister or the high powered and very stressful career he has. However he is overworked, unhealthy and obviously has lost his passion for the job. The death of his boss and mentor has him questioning the direction his life is taking.

Dylan 'follows the sun'. He travels the world, finding work where he can but has returned to work at Sapphire Cay for the last 5 years. He has had his own fair share of tragedy and disappointment in his life.

Lucas and Dylan are drawn to each other but their relationship develops fairly gently, both afraid of moving too fast. A lot of the focus is on Dylan trying to draw out Lucas, to put a smile on his face. Lucas' sadness and worries play a significant role.

Dylan has some decisions he also needs to make, decisions that would impact his roving ways. I do think there was a lost opportunity or potential plot twist related to the brief visit of Dylan's ex-lover. Knowing about the relationship Dylan had with him helps to understand Dylan better but why did his personal visit not result in any big drama or misunderstanding? I was waiting for something climatic to happen but it didn't eventuate.

Add a sweet sister, wedding shenanigans and a happy ending and it all sums up to an enjoyable story.
Lucas is a workaholic from Seattle, headed to the Bahamas for his sister's wedding. He's literally working himself to death; dealing with ulcers and high blood pressure. Dylan is a carefree Jack of all trades on the island of Sapphire Cay. He's always on the move, continually following the sun.
Lucas and Dylan develop a friendship, then progress to lovers. But can their connection survive once Lucas returns to Seattle? Will Lucas allow himself to slow down and enjoy life? Can Dylan be brave enough to stay in one spot and put down roots?
Follow the Sun is a sweet story about personal fulfillment, happiness and love. In each other, Lucas and Dylan can see the possibilities of a better future. This is a quick, feel good story. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
After losing his parents, Lucas becomes responsible for his sister Tasha. He chooses to pour his whole life into her welfare to the detriment of his own happiness and it pays off as Tasha grows into a happy and well adjusted woman. The fact that she also meets her perfect match in Liam makes the sacrifices that Lucas made worth it. While taking 2 weeks off from his busy work schedule to attend Tasha’s wedding and celebrate her marriage to Liam on the island of Sapphire Cay, Lucas meets Dylan, who shows him how to Follow the Sun starting by following his heart. This book brought tears to my eyes, happy tears. I love these types of romances.
This was a quick sweet read. There was no real angst. Lucas is just plain tired. He is working himself into an early grave. The demands of his job are brutal. On his way to the island that he has booked for his sisters wedd8ng, his boss is on him about a contract that another employee messed up, not really but the way the company views it, it’s not profitable enough for them. He gets bullied into review and fixing it while he’s away. Dylan is a carefree spirit just following the sun. He has no real ties, except for the hut he has on the island. He goes where the wind blows and takes jobs where he can. The initial meeting between these two is kind of awkward but we get to see the, grow to care, a lot, for each other. The ending was a surprise, and a very happy one. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and catch up with these two. Maybe we will see their wedding. I loved Lucas sister, she was so sweet.
